In fact, our outpatient program is one of the oldest and most successful in Ohio. Primarily serving the Akron and Canton area, we regularly have clients seek us out far from home in the hope of finding freedom from their addiction.
Through counseling, medical monitoring, and opioid replacement therapy, we will give you the tools to overcome your addiction and get back on the road to health and happiness. Our staff of Christian doctors, nurses, counselors and administrators are all here to help and support you in your recovery. Why Support
During your initial appointment, you will participate in our “Suboxone Orientation.” Here, you will complete the necessary paperwork, learn about our treatment protocols and review the medically assisted treatment options available to you, including Suboxone, Sublocade and Vivitrol. You will also undergo a urine screening and bloodwork, so that our physician can assess the appropriate medical treatment for you
Our outpatient program is designed to give you the tools and support for sustainable sobriety. Our success stems from Medically Assisted Treatment, counseling and the healing and saving power of Jesus Christ.
Each week, you will meet with our trained and caring professional counselors for one hour. Here you will learn a variety of effective strategies, including goal setting and coping mechanisms, that will help you during your addiction recovery. Our carefully controlled plan has proven to decrease the rate of relapse.

Preventing relapse requires more than just medication and sheer will power. A good recovery plan is necessary. Our mandatory relapse prevention classes meet for six Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The classes are also required if you have been with us for an extended period of time and are struggling in your recovery. Studies have shown that the longer a person is progressing in their treatment, the better chance they have for long-term recovery. Our Relapse Prevention classes provide the necessary education to give you a solid foundation on which to start your journey.

Essentially, buprenorphine operates at the same receptors in the brain where opiates such as OxyContin and heroin initiate their physiological and psychological effects. Even though it mimics the same effects that people might experience when taking illegal or prescription opioids, it does not provide them with the same feelings of euphoria or relaxation. Buprenorphine prevents withdrawal symptoms in patients and also produces less physical dependence and stimulation than traditional opiates.

Suboxone doses can start at a maximum 12 mg/day. 8 mg/day is the most common outcome for new clients.
No. Unlike Methadone, the dose of Suboxone you are prescribed only decreases. For most clients, over any significant span of time, you will be taking less Suboxone, not more.
Your privacy is completely valued, and you need not be concerned that you or your family member’s privacy will be breached during the course of treatment.
If you have Medicaid, there is no out-of-pocket expense for your treatment. If you have private insurance, we will work with you to determine any applicable co-pay for your treatment. If you have other insurance than what is accepted or no insurance at all, costs are as follows:

Inductions: Approximately 4 hours (one time appointment before you start counseling sessions)

Yes. We do qualitative (dipstick) and quantitative (lab) testing.
Relapse is always a concern when dealing with addiction. Here at New Destiny Treatment Center, we have protocols and tools to help you through if relapse does occur. Clients who are not compliant with our drug testing policies will be discharged. Referrals will be made for treatment that will better fit the client’s needs.
Yes, you may bring your children to your outpatient appointment. However, keep in mind that counseling often requires talking about personal issues that are not appropriate to talk about in front of children. Bringing your children to your sessions on a regular basis may impede your recovery.
The length of treatment may vary between individuals. For some people, 18 months or less will be sufficient. In other cases, particularly more severe addictions, the treatment may extend to 36 months or greater.
Our Outpatient program is designed to give clients the tools and support for sustainable sobriety.
It is paramount that clients report promptly to counseling sessions as scheduled. Counseling is arranged in advance and with client availability in mind. However, we cannot customize our schedule to meet every need.
Urinalysis is part of your counseling session. Failure to attend a scheduled session, complete a drug screen or a failed screening may result in immediate termination.
Relapse Prevention is part of your outpatient program. You must attend these sessions in their entirety. Failure to attend, arriving late or leaving early can result in treatment expulsion.
Children are permitted to attend counseling sessions, however, keep in mind that at times delicate subject matter may be addressed. You, the client, are our primary concern. You must be able to share openly with your counselor about the issues that compromise or incite your addiction.
You will be offered the Gospel message during treatment. Our success stems from the healing and saving power of Jesus Christ, counseling and medically assisted treatment.
You do not have to participate in the medication therapy aspect of our outpatient program. Please be advised that medically assisted treatment has proven to be a key component in successful treatment.
We ask that there be no fraternizing with the residential clients during any of your time at our center. Questions or concerns you may have can be addressed by one of our caring staff members.
Your well being and anonymity are our concern. We follow all privacy guidelines. You may be asked to give a statement regarding your treatment experience at New Destiny Treatment Center. Your compliance is not necessary. A decision not to participate in a success statement will not hinder any of your services. Should you be asked and choose to make a statement you must sign a release form. Your identity can still be maintained if you so desire.
If you have both a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder, it is important that we develop a treatment plan that addresses both. We are staffed by licensed clinical counselors who will provide the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment you need.
