Position: Fulltime, Mental Health Counselor (LPC) or equivalent; (LPCC)

Hours: Monday through Thursday 8am to 4pm, Friday 8am – 12pm

POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Mental Health Counselor at New Destiny Treatment Center in Clinton, Ohio. The Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for providing individual counseling, treatment planning, and relationship counseling to inpatient and outpatient clients. The role also involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. This position is in the MH department and collaborates with drug & alcohol as well as medical staff.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Performs individual counseling services to clients facing both mental health and substance use disorder issues.

• Performs accurate, compliant and timely treatment planning services.

• Administers and documents medication under physician’s order and follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medical error.

• Performs all aspects of client care in an environment that optimizes client safety.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LPC) or equivalent; (LPCC) required. Counselor Trainee (CT) are also welcome to apply.

• Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a Mental Health and Psychology background.

• Competency in all aspects of treatment planning.

• Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other professionals.

• Experience in substance use disorder work environments preferred, but not required.
